Russolo
The vineyards of Azienda Agricola
Russolo are located on a high gravelly plain at the foothills of
the Alps. This unique terroir is subject to rather large day
and night temperature variations, ensuring the grapes to slowly
develop rich varietal aromas and flavours while retaining fresh
mineral acidity. This certainly sets the wines from Russolo apart
from other producers, although it is the combination with Iginio
and Rino Russolo's dedicated work in both vineyard and winery that
has led to an impressive progression in the quality of their wines.
The extensive range is an eclectic mix between native Friulian and
French varieties, the latter grown successfully in the region since
the 18th and 19th century. While barriques
are thoughtfully used for the production of some of their wines,
the Ronco Calaj wines are stylistically defined by the sole use of
stainless steel tanks, ultimately capturing the terroir in the
bottle. http://www.russolo.it/
