Barolo DOCG Bricco Rocche Brunate
Product by: Ceretto
Founded by Riccardo Ceretto in 1937 in Alba, Ceretto now has over 120 hectares of vineyards in the very best sites of the Barolo and Barbaresco regions. The single-vineyard wines from various production zones of Barolo are produced at the Bricco Rocche winery in Castiglione Falletto. Ceretto has a 5.6 hectare holding in the revered Brunate vineyard in La Morra, known for the production of highly aromatic, more elegantly structured Barolo.
Vinification
After handpicking of the grapes the juice is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 7 to 10 days. During this period the juice is automatically pumped over the cap in order to maximise extraction of colour and flavour. The wine is further macerated for a week with submerged cap followed by ageing in small 300-liter barrels of French oak for 30 months.
Tasting Note
The colour of the wine is purple with an orange tinge. A highly perfumed, complex and seductive nose shows aromas of violet, rose, cherry, blackberry, plum and prune following through to a full-bodied palate with fresh acidity, robust tannins and a long ripe finish.
Food Matches
Mature Parmesan cheese, Salami.
