Rallo
When Don Diego Rallo founded Cantine Rallo in
1860 the entire production was focused on Marsala, Sicily's famous
fortified wine that has been produced since British merchant John
Woodhouse settled in the port city at the western tip of the island
in 1773. Despite historical ups and downs in Marsala's fortunes,
Rallo has always maintained the high quality standards for its
wines in order to show the splendours of which it is capable. Today
the winery is owned by the Vesco family who perfectly integrated
Don Diego's heritage with modern times by extending the production
with an excellent range of still wines from native Sicilian
varieties including Grillo, Inzolia and Nero D'Avola. The
philosophy is to focus on terroir, fostering typicity and
protecting the environment.
